Update on mozilla segfault problem

Hi debian list folks,

In addition to the stealthy mozilla segfault described in my earlier
post (attached) I discovered that setting ulimit does not produce a core
file with which to diagnose the segfault.

More details:

Following Grant Grundler's suggestion to set ulimit, I modified the
/usr/bin/mozilla-1.0.0 script as follows:

## The script will setup all the environment voodoo needed to make
## mozilla work.

...

## don't leave any core files around
#ulimit -c 0

# Temporary force core file (fas 2002 Sep 30)
ulimit -c unlimited

However, after I execute the script (/usr/bin/mozilla-1.0.0) I can't
find / -name core.

Please help, I welcome any suggestions as to how I may proceed to help
diagnose these problems.

Take care,
frank

--- Original post from 9/28/2002

Mozilla repeatedly fails stealthily, although it appears from the
following strace that a segmentation fault occurred. The entire strace
is available if it will help. Also please note that dmesg reports a
mozilla page fault as follows: do_page_fault() pid=401
command='mozilla-bin' type=15 address=0x00000000. (The entire dmesg has
been appended to this e-mail - I apologize for the its length).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Take care,
frank
