fbdev problems on B132L
Hi,
I successfully run X with an fb device, but only at 1024x768 8bpp.
In the very first boot-menu pressing <TAB> cycles me through several
monitor settings. 1024x768 is the best mode running on my monitor (a
Belinea 107010, which could do 1280x1024, but not @ 75Hz, and in the
boot menu only the VESA mode 1280x1024 @ 75Hz is offered)
In some manual I read that with VESA-fbdev mode swithching is not
supported, so I guess i am stuck in 1024x768.
Is that (still) right?
Second, I'd like to have more than 8bpp is that feasible?
Whenever I try to switch manually with fbset it tells me:
ioctl FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO: Invalid argument
Same happens when I tell X to use another bpp.
So is there a way to boot directly in, say 24bpp?
best regards,
Matthias Wenzel
