Henning,

The PCI 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 specifications permit both 5 V and 3.3 V 
signaling. When PCI cards use 5 V signaling they operate at a 
maximum frequency of 33 MHz; only 3.3V PCI cards support higher 
bandwidths.
