libsdl1.2 issues; please fix this ASAP
The libsdl1.2-linking-static-X-libraries problem is a very real one and
affects several architectures, including PPC, PA-RISC (HPPA) and IA64.
As I'm sure you are well aware, libsdl is used by many packages and thus
this problem is preventing many (~100 is my guess) packages from being
built on those three architectures.
Please fix this ASAP. libsdl1.0 has an example of how to fix this
problem. Or, if you prefer, let me know and one of the ppc/hppa/ia64
porters will arrange to do a proper fix and NMU with a patch mailed to
this bug.
If we do not hear from you by July 31 we will assume it is ok to do the
NMU.
thanks,
randolph
