Globus is gaining popularity in Scientific world for efficient data transfer.
Globus Connect Personal enables you to share and transfer files to and from
a laptop or desktop computer — even if it’s behind a firewall.

This package would be of interest to Debian Science and Debian HPC teams, etc.
It might become later a Recommends for git-annex if a globus-based
external special remote is developed (see eg
https://git-annex.branchable.com/todo/globus_special_remote_as_a___34__transport__34___layer/ )
