Hi Scott,
Thanks for the reply!

Ah, thanks for linking that - I was unsure where I should be looking
for the documentation on why it was removed

I'm pretty familiar with most debian packaging tasks (I've maintained
a few forks for our in-house use over the years), so at least the
build package mechanics of "learning debian packaging" are already
familiar to me.
I guess I'm more interested in learning about the processes of *how*
packages are maintained/managed through their lifecycle within the
debian project.
Many years of watching new packaging tools unfold into unmanageable
disasters has given me a significant respect for what debian has
achieved in it's management processes, so I'm keen to understand it at
a deeper level.

Yes, this too - I think/hope that having some insight into what it
takes to get it back in will start building out the picture of the
processes tomorrow (even if the way you do it is differently to
others)

I'm very grateful for the offer! If it's not stretching the friendship
too much - would you be willing to expose/explain it in any level of
detail to me (privately is fine too)? That would be great for growing
my general understanding and would assist me with understanding the
impact of some development directions within the tidal project too
Regards,
Bernie
