Arch packager here. Just want to update that by splitting out the static libs and the compiler itself, the overhead went down to ~100MiB for ghc-libs (GHC boot libs) in 8.2, and grew back to ~200MiB in 8.4/8.6. Since Arch usually does not split devel things, I believe your expectations are realistic with the further -dev part split. -- Regards, Felix Yan
