Backporting the relevant Haskell libraries, as well as being an abuse of
backports (which is not for bug fixes), is completely impractical.  It
would be very difficult to keep the backported libraries up-to-date with
the state of testing (this is the reason that debug-me is not in
stretch-backports).

Therefore, the only way to fix what you've reported is to prepare stable
updates to the Haskell libraries.  FAOD I won't be able to do this, but
someone else could.
