I just tried it, and my impression is that the maxima GCL-based binary
is broken on ARM:

	# maxima

	Unrecoverable error: Segmentation violation..
	/usr/lib/maxima/5.9.0/maxima-run-lisp: line 391: 2809 Aborted "$1" $extra_args $load_arg -eval '(run)'

I've put an experimental maxima package built with clisp instead of GCL
on my web page:

	http://pocketworkstation.org/files/maxima_5.9.0-27_arm.deb

You'll need to make sure that you're running the same clisp version I
built with (2.33.2-1), so do an "apt-get update" and "apt-get install
clisp" first, then "dpkg -i" the rebuilt maxima*deb.

This is pretty neat, thanks for pointing me to the package.
