Ok, having looked at the CHIRP website, because this has come up before, I
do see the following text:

"We are transitioning to rolling releases. For the best results, please
  download the current daily build!"

So I'm guessing maybe we should start packaging daily builds. The last
"release" was October 2014.

It may also be worth looking at backports for CHIRP too, though that's a
seperate discussion.

As I use CHIRP, I would be happy to help out with the more regular
packaging if the current package maintainers are happy with that. Those guys
will likely have a better understanding of the package however, so these
comments should be taken as only informational.

Thanks,
Iain.
