Bug#593354: fldigi: Hangs when used with xmonad
Package: fldigi
Version: 3.20.20-1
Severity: important
xmonad is a tiling window manager and takes control of the size and
positions of windows on the screen.
I experienced numerous conditions in which fldigi would hang or, more
rarely, segfault in this scenario.
Typically this appears to occur when xmonad makes an fldigi window,
particularly the main window, smaller than it expects. This can
happen automatically, for instance, when I open a new window, the
fldigi window can be shrunk to being very small horizontally.
A temporary workaround is to tell xmonad to "float" all the fldigi
windows, which causes it to manage them in its more conventional
fashion.
This caused me to lose more than one QSO before I realized what was
going on, and is probably not limited to xmonad; I suspect it could be
duplicated with a standard wm by resizing the main window to be a few
dozen or hundred pixels tall.
