Thank you for mentioning that my current etch system is running well
with a 2.4 kernel.

I think you are correct about putting a banner in the packages, that
they are depend on 2.6 or other kernel series or al least kernel x and
up.

I am not sure if you can detect that there is a kernel of at least x
is installed, then you still can do the dependency.

That would close the bug.
