Bug#399464: node: Uses a non-standard location for a file in /var
Package: node
Version: 0.3.2-4
Severity: normal
Node installs a file in a non-standard location in the filesystem -
namely '/var/ax25/node/loggedin'.
Quoting lintian:
E: node: non-standard-dir-in-var var/ax25/
N:
N: The FHS says "Applications should generally not add directories to the
N: top level of /var. Such directories should only be added if they have
N: some system-wide implication, and in consultation with the FHS mailing
N: list."
The correct location for conffiles would be /etc/node or perhaps
/var/lib/node if its modified at runtime.
cheers,
-Matti
