These are called 'aptitude' and 'synaptic' which can help if needed. The kpackage manager under deb includes DEB format of files to manage also. One thing I cannot stress enough is reading the AX25-HOWTO several times if necessary. I give pretty much all information required, however, further info can certainly be found on net.. or on forums like this..
