Did you get the same errors with kernel-image-2.2.20-386 (or is that the
one you have installed?)  Both of these kernel-image packages include
the ax25 and mkiss modules.  You may need to modprobe for both ax25 and
mkiss before running kissattach.  If that works, add both of these
modules to /etc/modules.
