They still talk about patches? Man that was so long ago it's not funny.
I'm not sure even Debian was around when we had patches (thinks), yes
they were just around, Bruce was the package maintainer then.

New ax25-tools etc need glibc 2.1 which Debian calls libc 6.1
They are all, of course, packaged up.

slink has ax25-utils 2.1.42a which is Ye Olde stuff.  It still works,
I think, but you are much better going to potato and using
ax25-tools/apps.
