Now to work on the "human issues". :) I'd be really interested to get in touch with him. The link listed as "Arvada, CO" and N0PSR is a friend who's gone through the "normal" setup routine with it and lets them admin his machine, etc. I was thinking of looking around on his machine and seeing what appears to be different... One of the things he mentioned is that they asked him to allow TELNET (ACK!) to the machine. Need to do some teaching about OpenSSH too. They've got the right idea about security, with their comments about using IPCHAINS to firewall all but the other nodes in the network from connecting, but if they're using telnet to access the nodes, they're defeating all the hard work they've put in to secure it... Sigh... where to start...? :) Anyway, I haven't been too vocal on their list yet, nor have I contacted them, as I wanted to put a machine outside my firewall and let them do the usual setup, etc... become part of the group and THEN recommend better ways to do things. It's really an interesting project... "IBM" Unix... heh heh... like that one.
