Oh, and gnome-cd also uses CDROMREADAUDIO, it just does not produce any
sound output. Starting from the command line under strace it now gave
an error:
** (gnome-cd:30851): WARNING **: Generic IO error
Not very helpful. There is no error in the kernel logs, so it is not a
media error (and the same CD plays fine with the other players).
