Obviously not, but no point in reporting it before I know if there's a
chance. Especially since I believe this runs a good chance of being
adopted upstream and trickling into my system that way :-)

Ah, that's a reasonable policy.
I'm a little surprised the Ubuntu devs are doing it... or maybe their
translation magic (rosetta or whatever it's called) let's them handle
this in some way.
