Any chance getting a Ubuntu patch into Debian's GNOME?

Does the Debian GNOME team look at the patches Ubuntu adds to GNOME and
include them, or just wait until they are applied upstream?

I'm running a Debian Sid system and posted the following to gnome-love:

 http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-love/2006-July/msg00019.html

Through the discussion I found out that Ubuntu has applied a patch that
addresses the problem:

 http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-love/2006-July/msg00024.html

So, any chance of seeing it in Sid before it's merged and released
upstream?

/M
