I think there is a fine line between "encouraging gnucash to make the
transition" and "forcing gnucash to do it now". I would hope the gnucash
developers are well aware by now that GTK+1 is not a long term solution,
but I don't think a rushed port to GTK+2 will help anybody achieve
anything.

given that gtk+1 is in sarge, and so must be supported to some extent
until etch is released, it doesn't seem like there is going to be any
extra work provided that the transition occurs before then.
