whither mailcheck?

So, I just upgraded to 2.10, which went relatively smoothly, except
that the mailcheck applet has been removed. The remaining applet,
flink, doesn't support Maildir, and crashes whenever you modify the
configuration. The other one I could find, mboxcheck-applet, doesn't
start at all.

Gnubiff has possibilities, but segfaults if you try to open the preferences
twice in one session.

Any suggestions?
