They're being worked on massively at the moment by jpr, one of the Ximian
hackers. I presume the work is being done for the pending XD2 and Evo
releases. :-)
Currently, they are not described as exceptionally stable. :-)

They weren't ported as part of the GNOME 2.x releases, but there are some
hackers working on them in GNOME CVS. You might want to have a peek, and
help out if you can! They're doing some good refactoring and updates.
