we are migrating toward gnome 2.2.

i think it was decided that the gnome 2.2 release candidate was going to
be packaged for sid.

but to do it at a good time would have required planning. and the
gnome/gtk maintainers (thanks for all your hard work guys) dont seem to
have a knack for that. :-)

i think some parts of gnome 2.1 depend on on glib/gtk+ 2.2. anyways,
glib/gtk+ 2.0 and 2.2 should be api and abi compatible, so there
shouldnt be too much trouble.
