Re: gnome is testing appears broken
I had a look at the /tmp.ICD-unix directory and it did appear to be
owned by root. I don't get that error message anymore. Weird!!!
I started gnome-seesion via startx and it took a long time before the
gnome 2.2 splash screen appeared. Some time later the sawfish wm
appeared with the pager in the middle of the screen. I get the
following messages on the console.

I unisntalled all gnome packages, then installed "apt-install -t testing
