What?

We are talking about a gnome-session.scheme modification to show a
Debian splash screen instead of the GNOME specific one and thus, you
should depend on desktop-base because that package has the new image (a
shared one between all Debian Desktops).

If a user installs gnome-session I cannot believe that he/she does not
want the desktop-base package...
