Re: weird gnome panel behaviour

Hi,

if, after a crash, pieces of gnome misbehave, look for broken xml
files in ~/.gconf and /etc/gconf.

   find ~/.gconf /etc/gconf -type f -print0 | xargs -0 file -Ni | egrep -v
'(xml|empty)$'

might help (or it might not---)

Yep that was the problem. There were five panels in gconf apps/panel/profiles/ default/panels, when I only have two. After figuring out which panels I do not need, I removed them (with gnome and X not running) from my home .gconf directory.
