Last I heard, guile-1.4 is still the preferred library upstream-- though
they are moving to 1.6.  I have backported gnucash from your packages
for my gnome2.2 backport, but used guile-1.4 because of compilation
issues, and they work fine on x86.  I wonder if some of these issues
could be fixed if you used guile-1.4 instead?
