I meant Applications -> Desktop Preferences -> Background -> Picture
Options = No Picture. "Applications" is a menu entry in the panel.
Using the standard debian menus, that's Debian -> Apps -> Gnome ->
Gnome Control Center 2 -> Desktop Preferences -> Background -> Picture
Options = No Picture.
