I don't think it should be finished -- it never should have started.
The right fix (short term) to me is to roll back to libpng2.  imlib and
gnome-libs are the only things that directly link against png3, everything
else (when it rebuilds) should not be linking the image libs at all, so in
future it'll be as easy as three recompiles, rather than the entire world.

Let's not finish it and keep the ABI the same for now.  If a versioned symbol
patch makes it's way upstream, then rebuilding becomes a sane option.
