No, it introduces all sorts of interesting new ones. Stick with stable, fix
up XftConfig (it is *broken* on Debian... no flame intended, it's just not
correct).
(That doesn't rule out Sarge going with GNOME 2.2 when it's released, but
it's a good idea to fix broken stuff affecting the entire platform as soon
as possible anyway.)

Yes, that's another thing to configure in XftConfig.
