I thought you said that Gnome 2.1 packages should not be uploaded to
unstable. Takuo's method of creating b-a1.0 packages implies leaving the
current b-a 2.1.0 packages in unstable.
In any case, Takuo used an epoch and uploaded, and the breakage is gone :-)
