I edit ~/.gtkrc manually. There's a line which points tu current theme. 
I just substitute it to the new theme. If you have downloaded a theme 
just decompress it in ~/.themes, and point there. That's all.

I haven't been able to find where to override default font without 
tweaking the theme itself though. Can anybody tell?
