Hi,
For me removing all files older than the 5th September (date of the
laste update) in "/etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/vfolders" solved the problem.
The Preferences menu and all applications are here again.
I guess this mess happened due to an update of the files in
"/etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/vfolders", where old configuration files haven't
been deleted and new configuration files, conflicting with the old) were
added.
