Hey everyone, Recently a bug in the postrm files in the xfonts-gimpers packages broke my XFree86 4.1.0-17 when it somehow disabled my X cursor after removing itself. After purging X and reinstalling it, all GNOME 2 applications now refuse to start on my box and give error messages similar to the one below: ** (nautilus:8102): WARNING **: Couldn't load font "Sans 10" falling back to "Sans 10" ** (nautilus:8102): WARNING **: Couldn't load font "Sans 10" falling back to "Sans 10" ** (nautilus:8102): WARNING **: All font failbacks failed!!!! Even after purging all GNOME, X and font packages, I can't seem to get GNOME 2 working again like it was in perfect order 24 hours ago. Does anyone have an idea what is going on here or what has been broken and isn't getting fixed by reinstalling packages? I have the following packages installed: ii xfonts-100dpi 4.1.0-17 100 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-75dpi 4.1.0-17 75 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-base 4.1.0-17 standard fonts for X ii xfonts-scalabl 4.1.0-17 scalable fonts for X ii xfs 4.1.0-17 X font server ii xfstt 1.2.1-1 TrueType Font Server for X11 ii msttcorefonts 1.0.1 Installer for Microsoft TrueType core fonts Thanks in advance, Andrew "Netsnipe" Lau -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Andrew 'Netsnipe' Lau Computer Science & Sturep, UNSW * * "apt-get into it" Debian GNU/Linux Packager * * <netsnipe(+)debianplanet.org\0> <alau(+)cse.unsw.edu.au\0> * * GnuPG 1024D/2E8B68BD 0B77 73D0 4F3B F286 63F1 9F4A 9B24 C07D 2E8B 68BD * ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
