I don't use the above mentioned packages, but I use mozilla 1.0rc3
compiled with the GTK2 embed stuff, and run galeon head against it and
it goes pretty well (no stability problems like you mentioned)

yeah, it'd be awesome have some mozilla debs with the gtk2 stuff in it,
although I imagine this wouldn't include the gtk2 parts required for
galeon/nautilus (I believe these still aren't in mozilla trunk?)
