I chatted with a guy from helix and he said they were going to do debian
package ASAP. He wanted to have some kind of automated installer doodle
like they have for RPM - he was busy trying to abuse libapt into some
horrible gtk object thing (yuk)

They guy has a diary at http://primates.helixcode.com/~peter/ that
mentions debian stuff.

Notice his odd idea of 'usable' *shudder*

I don't think so. Debian packages should be made by Debian people who are
familiar with Debian policy. Just because you can make a RH package, or
write some gnome code does not qualify you to package a Debian package.
