Without an upstream patch, the estimate command will not work. You should still be able to package the code, though (applying patches where needed).

The resulting package also fails to build at this point:

I assume that's because github.com/containers/image isn't package, exactly as dh-make-golang suggests. Doing that gets me this:

At this point, I feel like I'm getting a bit overwhelmed. Has anyone else on this list looked at packaging software from github.com/containers and friends before? - Am I on the right track, or am I making my life more complicated than needed?
