You are right, that would be the way to go, but I won't be the one to do it.

I still hold a bit of a grudge against InfluxDB for going open-core,
especially by removing key features from the community product.

For now, I want to focus my energy on getting InfluxDB 1.7 in Debian,
which requires the gigantic monorepo at:
 - https://github.com/influxdata/platform

Sure, now that I know you might be interested, I will come up with a
list when I have time. Until then, nothing will be removed.
