Can't get back there but might have been librt.so.1 or such.

They are identical, not very illminating.

I have a LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 in /etc/profile which was put there for
jackd. Maybe I should get rid of that! Tried that with the upgrade and
actually got into a bash login from the console but kdm would not restart to
test it there. Had to downgrade once again.

Another oddity: If I try to run openoffice (on downgraded system):
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/javaldx: /lib/libpthread.so.0: version
`GLIBC_2.3.3' not found (required
by /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libuno_sal.so.3)
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: /lib/libpthread.so.0: version
`GLIBC_2.3.3' not found (required
by /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libuno_sal.so.3)

** (process:1913): WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary / abnormal
early exit ...

Usually, things fail with the 2.3* downgrade looking for the newer one
(required by qt4 libraries, for example).
