Note that is affect all "Etch" systems installed since May 2006.

Currently very few packages are using /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf, but it
begins to be standard among distributions, so I guess some manually
installed software will use that. Also it may be the case of some
backports packages.
That's why I consider this bug as serious.

The fix is a one-line change, so I think it should be propagated. But
the decision is left to the release managers.
