Bug#218561: libc6: relocation error with same binary with kernel 2.6, not with 2.4

Package: libc6
Version: 2.3.2.ds1-8
Severity: normal
Followup-For: Bug #218561

My self-compiled qmail binaries give the same 'relocation error' for
errno with this glibc version when I run kernel 2.6.0-test9-mm1, but not
when I run kernel 2.4.23pre7.

Compiling the binaries only succeeds with 2.6.0-t9-mm1 when I do

export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

running with this variable fails, but that may well be due to me not
setting the variable correctly for all of qmail's spawned processes.

Anyway, this glibc version does strange things.

More information gladly available on request!
