You can't do anything with the interpreter.  Its pathname is part of the
ABI, so it must remain at /lib/ld-linux.so.2.  But this should be OK,
because the i386 and i686 versions will be binary compatible with each
other so long as they were built from the same source.

That's very strange.  I'll do some experiments locally and see if I can
reproduce this.
