Hello, I also have this problem and cannot install anything via apt-get/aptitude any more as I constantly risk that it removes php4 and it's dependants from my system. I've done an apt-get update but this conflict remains: ------------------------------ server:/# aptitude install libc6 php4 Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree Reading extended state information... Done Sorry, php4 is already installed at the requested version (4:4.1.2-4) E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. E: Unable to correct dependencies, some packages cannot be installed E: Unable to resolve some dependencies! Some packages had unmet dependencies. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following packages have unmet dependencies: libc6: Conflicts: php4 (< 4:4.2.3-5) but 4:4.1.2-4 is installed. ------------------------------ Is there any workaround for this? (an apt source for a different libc6 or php4 package would be nice, better of course would be to actually get rid of this conflict) Greetings, Michel
