I have a PHP script on the server which accesses a MySQL database. The
script didn't work after the upgrade. The error message it gave said
that it couldn't connect to the MySQL server. I don't remember the
actual text of the error message.

I used "/etc/init.d/mysql restart" to restart it. Afterwards my PHP
script worked again.
