Bug#38978: illegal instruction error on 386sx

Hi,

I get these too since I yesterday upgraded my 386sx16 to potato current.
The libc6 is 2.1.2-0pre2 (it ran slink until now.)  I get core dumps from
route, netstat, pppd and I've seen dpkg-split die too, but without
generating a coredump.
