I encountered this problem when trying to compile a program straight out
of the mysql manual, the transcript is as follows:


gEek:/usr/local/src/genisis/src/dagobah# gcc -o test testmysql.c -lm
-lmysqlclient
/usr/bin/../lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `__getline'
/usr/bin/../lib/libdl.so.2: undefined reference to `_dl_default_scope'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
