Subject: libc6: libc6-2.0.7r-3 trashed my system
To: submit@bugs.debian.org
X-Mailer: bug 3.1.5

Package: libc6
Version: 2.0.7r-3

Am I the only one with this problem?

I upgraded from 2.0.7r-2 to 2.0.7r-3 and this happened:

Unpacking replacement libc6
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess rm cleanup killed by signal (segmentation fault)
Setting up libc6 (2.0.7r-3) ...
dpkg: error processing libc6 (--install):
subprocess post-installation script killed by signal (segmentation fault)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 libc6

After that, no binary works anymore, you cannot shut down the system
and after reboot the system cannot start init. I only managed to recover
from this by copying the library files from 2.0.7r-2 from another hamm
system to /lib (after having booted from floppy).

I don't know if this one is related to the LD_PRELOAD bug already reported
against 2.0.7r-3. I don't see any LD_PRELOAD around here, though.
