Subject: libc6: /lib/ld-linux.so.2 has debugging info
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
X-Mailer: Mutt 0.93.1

Package: libc6
Version: 2.0.7u-7.1
Severity: wishlist

/lib/ld-2.0.7.so is too big: it is not only unstripped: it has
all the debugging info.

	I think `strip --keep-symbol=_dl_debug_state --strip-unneeded'
should be used (the symbol _dl_debug_state is needed for gdb to work
properly).

If for any reason you don't want to strip the rest of the
symbols, at lease `strip --strip-debug' should be used.

(BTW: this is almost the same bug as Bug#17567, but that one
was marked as done without changing anything).

	Thanks,
