X-Mailer: bug 3.1.7

Package: timezones
Version: 2.0.7u-4

-- System Information
Debian Release: slink
Kernel Version: Linux verdi 2.1.125 #2 SMP Sun Oct 18 22:28:29 CDT 1998 i686 unknown

Versions of the packages timezones depends on:
ii libc6 2.0.7u-4 The GNU C library version 2 (run-time files)

--- Begin /etc/timezone (modified conffile)
Canada/Central

--- End /etc/timezone

I had my timezone set to US/Central. When we switched from Daylight
Savings Time to Standard Time, mail originating on my systems suddenly
started getting trapped by spam filters. It had a header with a time
specified as -0600 (EST) instead of -0600 (CST).

Note the difference in the timezone reported by the following
 # /usr/sbin/zdump /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Central
 /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Central Fri Nov 6 15:14:09 1998 EST
 # /usr/sbin/zdump /usr/share/zoneinfo/Canada/Central
 /usr/share/zoneinfo/Canada/Central Fri Nov 6 15:14:49 1998 CST
